Client Goals – Conserve valuable manufacturing floor space by storing inbound raw materials and components offsite until needed for manufacturing and/or assembly. Truckload movement between offsite storage and manufacturing facility.
Touchpoint Solution – Touchpoint DC receives barbeque grill raw materials and components by the truckload or by ocean container. Product is counted and receipt is confirmed with client.
While product is in storage client inquires on inventory status over the
Internet.
The entire inventory is cycle counted every 90 days.
Outbound orders are shipped to client’s manufacturing facilities. Client
builds truckloads of various materials and components based on what grill
is being assembled at that time. Outbound loads can consist of more than
125 sku’s.
Results – Client has moved machinery and assembly equipment into floor space that was occupied by raw materials and unassembled components.
